I think coming to the conclusion that his seeming disinterest is solely based on the child being adopted is a tad myopic. There could be a million reasons why he is not as gung-ho after the adoption as he was when the child was just a concept. Many men are not as all-over the day-to-day challenges of being a parent as women. Some parents are not as enamoured with infants/toddlers as they are with older children. He could very well become more involved when his son is old enough to actually do things with him and communicate. I'd be curious to know about the kind of parent he was with his twin daughters when they were his son's age. As he stated that he forgot about all the tasks involved with being a parent, I ume he is older and again some parents feel drained by the 101 mundane tasks that are an important part of parenting. As he was adopted himself, perhaps this transition is bringing some latent feelings about his past to the forefront and he's having difficulty processing them and perhaps transferring them onto his son. Sadly, it is possible that he feels a distance with a child not biologically attached to him, but I hope that given time, they will bond and he will be the father his son deserves.

PARANORMAL HAPPENINGS/ LANDLORD ISSUES? IS IT RUDE TO ASK OF PAST POSSIBLE INCIDENTS?

I recently moved into my first home by myself, unexplainable things started happening about 3-4 weeks after I moved in. I asked it to leave, however, in the past few months these happenings are more frequent and becoming even harder to fathom a reasonable explanation, as well as become more ertive. I have witness to most these events, so it's not "imagination" (footsteps through the home when no body's there, knocks on the wall, lucid visions, I could go on and on). I've been staying away as much as possible now until I find out more...I do not feel its "Mr. Happy" So, some friends met me at the house yesterday so I could stop in and take care of a few things. I turned on my stereo (.. which is newer) a few minutes ped a good song came on the radio, I started belting out to it trying to feel "normal" again, the entire component shut down, and will not come back on. My components were all plugged into a surge protector, someone checked out the stereo (no problems found),nothing else went out that is connected to this, we even tested the plug to ure it was not the reason). At this time i'm getting frustrated because it is patiently breaking my things and it is envoking fear. I started to call my landlord to ask about his knowledge of anything "weird" in the past but became hesitant about asking so hung up. He called me back so I went ahead and asked if anyone in the past has experienced anything there. I made it clear I did not want to be taken as "off". (I know I might of sounded "off" because i've become overwhelmed with everything....He asked "weird things?"... I mentioned the footsteps and such, he replied that( I ) "You need to start getting your dope from someone else" I was like "noooo ...It's not even like that, others witnessed it as well." I was very offended by this. (And it adds to the fact I already feel on the verge of crazy... so) He went on about how he hears strange things in his house and there's always a reason... I cut him off and just told him thanks, that I only wanted to find out the history on that. In the end he said there was no events, nobody else has complained of it in the past. So, I politely cut it short and hung up. (I never call him because I fix the minor things on my own, and there is no reason for him to think I even do drugs). Was this out of line for me to ask about? And, in Kansas, because he said that "no, there was nothing"...(in a not so respectable fashion...), would that allow me to my rights of obligation of contract? I'm doenting the happenings and now have photos, working to resolve the issues via investigative. Also, if I start looking through "Public Records" will he recieve reports on these searchs? Any positive input on finding information is welcomed.

I like Photoshop (Elements-- the full version is too spendy for my budget) mostly for the fact that it makes up for the deficiencies of the cheap digital cameras I've had over the years. 10 month old not attempting to stand on his own.?

I have a beautiful bright 10 month old. He is a little chatter box and is already starting to say a few words (mama, stop, and duck). I'm just a little concerned because he refuses to pull himself up and stand (even while holding on to something) He is my first and only and I'm sure if this is normal and I have to admitt that I do kind of compare him to my nephew who was up and walking around at 10 months. My son has always done the same (he's almost 11 months) and I've noticed my friends baby does the same too. I don't think it's anything to worry about, they probably do it for the same reasons adults do, it's sometimes easy to forget that they are miniature humans and will have a lot of the same unexplainable bodily functions as us! I'm sure it's just when they get a sudden chill for some reason, or perhaps even when thinking about something they dislike like adults. Sure there's no harm ringing the doc to put your mind at rest, but I certainly wouldn't be jumping to any fears such as Tourette's!

9 month old cat is eating a lot more and is unusually active?

At the beginning of August I adopted a malnourished, stray female cat about 7 months old. She is now about 9 months old, was spayed September 1st, has had all her shots and does not have feline leukemia, and is a healthy (lean) weight of about 7.5 pounds (she has a small frame). I have noticed in the last week or so that she is always meowing for more food. This is not normal for her. She used to leave some food in her bowl and was somewhat picky, but now she gobbles down every last bite. She cries for more food several hours later. I can't tell if she is drinking more water than usual and I haven't noticed yet that she is peeing more than usual, but I am watching for that because they could be signs of diabetes or hyperthyroidism (but that would be extremely rare in such a young cat as Oreo). However, I really can't see how she could have diabetes because that usually is accompanied by a decrease in energy, and another thing I have noticed about Oreo is that she is way more hyper and active than usual. She is a very playful cat, but this week she wants to play ALL the time. She sprints after a ribbon up and down the stairs for 20 minutes straight, takes a 5 minute break, then she's ready to play some more. She is somewhat less snuggly this week. Instead of hopping in my lap in the morning she wants to play wrestle and be rowdy -- this despite the fact that we exercise her a ton everyday and we even let her play outside for several hours in the evenings (when we are there to check on her). So what do you all think? Maybe she is just having a growth spurt and needs lots of calories? Perhaps her activity level can be explained by the fact that she is finally fully nourished and at a healthy weight after 2 months of eating high quality food and so she is just a happy, rascally kitty? I have never cared for a kitten before, so I do not know if they have growth spurts like this, especially at 9 months (but I suppose her growth may have been stunted as a small kitten due to malnourishment and so she is getting a late growth spurt?).

It's really simple. You just need newspaper cut into strips. Take a bowl and pour in some flour. Add water and mix.The consistency should be thick and not too watery. Then dip in the newspaper strips and wrap them around whatever you want. Why do children get homesick?

Many children get homesick because they have never before been away from home or mom and dad for a long period of time and it reminds me of a little boy some years back who had pretty red hair and I was asked by the Camp Director to talk to as he was homesick and I was the camp chaplain. I recalled seeing this boy earlier that day at the Nature Lodge talking to and petting the rabbits, and thought humm will it work let's see. I said Jeremy if you leave camp those rabbits you talked to today will become depressed and suicidal and will insist on being cooked by the camp cook. If you will do me a big favor and stay in camp and help me keep our rabbits happy it would help me alot. He agreed and each morning he would go to visit the rabbits and each night before turning into his campsite he would say good night to them.. On Saturday he came to medical to get his medications with his mom and asked for a photograph of himself which she gave him with a curious look. She followed him to the nature lodge where he placed the photo in the first cage and told them not to eat it but it was so they would not feel depressed. She came back to medical and asked who was chaplain green and when I said it was me she said your a nut. I still to this day look to make sure no squirrels are around. But it worked for him.

Which is better, enameled or regular cast iron dutch ovens?

For baking, roasting, deglazing, stewing, etc. which is better for your money? I like the Le Creuset enameled ones because they are easier to clean and the enameled coating allows you to do more cooking with things like acidic foods compared to seasoned dutch ovens. But the price is incredibly ridiculous, and I heard enameled coatings can easily be damaged in high heat. Regular dutch ovens are wayyy cheaper and probably perform just as well, but I'm afraid I just can't cook alot of stuff in it because I will constantly be afraid of taking off the seasoning. So the main problem is the seasoning, which is a huge deal because I don't want my foods looking black or tasting like metal.

IS this a lump or something I should worry about?

A few days ago I was in the shower and I felt something weird in my right inner arm, where my armpit meets my arm. So its not in my armpit, but at the top of my armpit, where my armpit meets my inner tricept. I am not sure if it is a lump, it feels soft to the touch and it doesnt hurt at all, kind of more like a bump than a lump. Feels a bit like muscle. Oddly I cannot feel it if my arm is down, or even only raised halfway. In fact if my arm is down by my side I can't feel anything hard or lumpy at all. I can only feel it when my arm is pretty much fully outstretched over my head. You can't see it and it is not particularly big, but its not on my other arm and I have never noticed it before so I dont know if it is something to be worried about or not. Is it worth going to see a doctor? I do work out quite a lot, could it be some sort of inflamed muscle?

This was a good trade overall. You gave up a player who has 18 ppg 8 rpg and close to 6 apg but you gained a fantastic rebounder and a guy getting you 13 ppg and 9 rpg. Just looking at this trade like this you can see you got the upside. When you look at your team though there is good and bad from this trade. You gained rebounding which you didnt seriously need but you also gave yourself an upgrade in points. Losing Smith's ists wont hurt because of Johnson, Udrih, Davis and Tinsley but the trade caused a slight balance problem with the makeup of your team. If play Johnson as a PG, then you have no solid SG or SF. This is not a big problem at all but if Johnson gets hurt, consider trading one of your big men for a good SG or SF

My labradors had puppies...and how im confused about the colors...help?

i know i have two black puppies. i know i have 5 white puppies. (though technically called yellow.) i know i have one chocolate...who is actually what i discovered is dark chocolate. now the other two...im confused. they appear black when next to the chocolate and appear dark chocolate when next to the black. they are not quite either color. when its by its self its kinda a dull blackish brown. i know that there are charcoal labs. and im wondering if these two qualify. judging by some of the pictures ive seen they do, but by others they don't. in any pictures i try to take of them they appear dull black which is not their color in reality so it would do no justice to post a picture. but i don't know what to list these two pups as. any ideas? any experience? i am sure they are pure. if it helps the sire is black and the dam is chocolate. they both have yellow in their heritage. upon mating them i didn't realize there would be color confusion... help!

I would say you have done your home work and are ready, lizzie has some good advise also, I would only suggest that you consider placement of the bird in your house. as they can be messy as bird seed and bits of toy will litter the floor below. wing clipping is a good idea they can grow back later once the bird has acclimated to it's position in your home, and you have established a re pore with it. my daughter has parakeets she has a travel cage for so the birds can go to the park or even just outside occasionally. excellent for transport, only for your consideration not really required. Why Does My Cat Do This?

I hae 6 cats, all inside (3 litter boxes changed frequently), all fixed. The 8 yr. old male uses the box during the day, but at nite, he poops and pees in my kitchen, ea. in a different spot, but always the same spot for each activity. He has also begun peeing on my living room carpet in the same place each time. Reprimands don't work. Nothing has. He appears to be healthy. We think he may be a little slow, he kind of acts as if he is a little retarded compared to the other cats. He is very sweet, loving and docile. Putting live plants in aquarium all fish staying in the bottom of the tank?

I have a 40 gallon fish tank, full of goldfish. And my prize fish..an 11 year old comet that I got at a carnival in the 6th grade haha. Dont sweat handsprings, you dont need backhandsprings till compulsory level 4 and fronthandsprings to compulsory level 5, so you have some time.

I've never encountered "dry rot" in yarn that was less than 40 years old. It's more likely that you will run into problems with moths or beetles, or sunlight damage. How can a Depression sufferer already on meds have more "up" days?

I have suffered with some form of Depression and Anxiety for most of my life. I was diagnosed and began trying different doctor-prescribed medications 11 years ago. For the past several years, I have been on Wellbutrin and Effexor and they seem to be the most beneficial I've tried so far. I have experienced much higher levels of joy and ability to function. The problem is, I still have a lot of mood swings and unpredictability in how I feel from day to day. There are days when I feel really good and hopeful that I can be the person I know I'm meant to be. Obviously, I'm going to ask psychiatrist this on my next visit, but I was wondering if anyone had any theories or experience on how to have more "feel-good" days? I obviously try to practice lifestyle modification to help myself feel better, but sometimes it only helps so much and some symptoms seem out of my control. It just seems strange that my medications would seemingly work so much better some days than others. Anyway, thanks for any suggestions.

I've been to all three and Playa del Carmen is the best. It is on the Caribbean and the water is warm, turquoise, and calm. The others are on the Pacific and the water is cold, dark blue, and rough. Both Acapulco and PV are on bays making the ocean a little more agreeable. But, it's still brown coarse sand on the beaches. The Caribbean is a much better choice and as said earlier,there is so much to do. Plus the Mayan people of the Yucatan are so nice. Very gracious.

Hi, today I fell off my 2 year old saddlebred because he got spooked. I fell off(of course) and when I was I was on his left side of his neck and he reared up alittle and I thats when I fell off. When I hit the ground he was close of stepping on me. I was fine, got up and lunged him with no one on and had him trot about 10 mins to clam him down. I would say use a condom. There are requirments to meet for a vasectomy and they aren't 100% either, they still can fail. I have met a few kids born after their fathers had a vasectomy, just like a woman getting her tubes tied isn't 100%. I would advise using the condoms. Reversal of a vasectomy is expensive as is the sperm bank freezing your sperm for later use and artificial insemination is also extremly expensive.

I would try cutting down on the guest list if possible. other than that you could make the cake yourself. (I'm having around 30 guests and making two round betty crocker cakes from a box.) Cut the liquor all together. Find a cheaper dress or borrow one from someone. Cut the favors. (They get thrown away half the time anyway.) If you're at an outdoor venue you don't need decor and for flowers you could always try gardening yourself, id ont know just a thought. Invitations you could make yourself at a copy shop. Is rescuing a tied up dog and taking him to the animal shelter stealing?

I just want to clarify my original question. I did call the animal shelter first but they were done for the day picking up animals. I didn't know you could call the police regarding a tied up animal. It was not my intention to take the dog. That is why I took it to the shelter. Again, I did call animal control but they only have certain pick-up hours. The woman at the shelter told me that I could bring the tied-up dog in myself. Also, guys, I feel bad and confused enough so can you tame down some of the mean comments? I mean, I welcome any opinion and everyone obviously has a right to free speech and their opinions. However, as you will see in my original question, I'm pretty stressed and confused and already took a verbal beating from the "supposed" dog owner, so I'm just asking for straightforward, non-judgemental answers. My dachshund puppy's has large swollen glands in his neck.?

Please help. Has anyone experienced this problem. One of my 3 month old dachshund puppies has two large swollen lumps where his lymph glands are in his neck. I noticed it a week ago and then it was only one lump on one side. I took him the vet immediately and she said that she thought it was an abscess from a bite or sting but I couldn't see any originating wound. She sedated him and opened it up but didn't get very much liquid out. She put him on anti inflammatory tablets and antibiotics. Within four days both of the sides of his cheeks had large (about the size of a large quail egg) lumps on both sides. I rushed him back to the vet again. This time they had four vets look at him and none of them know what it is. He does not have any other swollen lymph nodes anywhere else on his body and no other symptoms and he is 99% normal in his behavior. He is one of a family of five dogs, three dachshunds and two retrievers and he is playing, eating, peeing, pooping and sleeping as usual. None of his spunk has gone and his coat and skin and temperature is normal but I just can't imagine that having two huge lumps in his throat isn't affecting him somehow. When I took him back to the vet the second time (Friday) they took a sample of one side and I won't get the results until Monday or Tuesday. However, after they took the sample I did manage to get about a tablespoon amount of liquid out of the side that they took the sample from. Since then, in the last 24 hours, I haven't been able to get anything out of it. He looks like a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter. Despite the humor, I am really worried. Has anyone come across this with their dog before or has ever seen anything like this before? I've worked at a vet clinic and I've had five dachshunds (he's a miniature) and numerous dogs over many years working with a rescue org. but I have never seen anything like it. I use a large well known veterinary clinic and four vets there also didn't know what it was. Does anyone have any idea??? I think he is sleeping a little more than usual but he is still a puppy and I have his sister who sleeps about as much as he does. I would be so appreciative if anyone has experienced this before and could give me some more information. I can't tell you how appreciative I would be.

How to cure a pulled hamstring FAST.?

The question is whether you pulled the muscle or only tweaked it. If it is only tweaked then ice it for twenty minutes per hour. It possibly could be ready by Saturday. If you really pulled it forget Saturday. Hamstring injuries are notoriously slow to heal and can take as much as nine months to fully heal. Stretching is not the answer to this problem but strengthening is. As the pain decreases start to work the hamstrings. Since you are going to a gym hopefully they have a prone leg curl. Start out working the non-injured side. Take a light weight and start to work your way up. Get to a weight that you can handle and the key is to be able to hold one strong contraction with the good leg for twenty seconds at the end position. Relax after that and wait thirty seconds and again do that one hold for twenty seconds. After that rest for another thirty seconds and try a light weight with the injured leg. Don't force the leg but see if it can curl a light weight. Get the weight up to the end position and hold it for twenty seconds and relax. Wait thirty seconds and do it again. You should find that the weight is not heavy nor does it bother you to lift it. Go back to the good leg and lift again with the last weight for another twenty seconds. Rest for thirty and repeat. If the injured leg was fine without any problems lift the next weight up in the stack. If that is too much drop down to whatever you could do last and go through the routine again. Over the next few days you will see an improvement in the injured as well as the good leg. Keep testing the injured leg to see if it can lift more but don't ever force it. Use ice on the leg post workout for twenty minutes. Stretch gently at this time.

I've been skiing for five weeks this year and am using all used equipment. I can usually make it down the hill with out falling too much unless i'm daydreaming or turning. I can ski really, really fast if i don't turn though. I can hit jumps too, my friend told me i got like a foot of air once. Is that enough? I'm going skiing again in the morning and really, really, really want new skis but my parents wont buy them for me so my only option is a sponsor.
