Girls at office are not very professional.?

There is a group of girls I work with, and they are cattttttty and go to management with every little thing. There is about five of us, and five of us, so it's like the "us" vs. "them" mentality. They tend to pick on people, and have gotten multiple people fired. Management doesn't see it, because these girls are chameleons, they are so different with our manager. I really don't want to go to management, because I know nothing will get done. But there have been several instances where the "ring-leader" makes snide remarks about us, ie we don't work, we just stand around and talk, etc... which is not the case. I really want to say something to this girl. She has crossed the line more than a handful of times. What is a professional way to go about this, without jeopardizing my job? I am mostly worried that she will distort what I have said, run to management, and I will get in trouble.
